Another Reznikoff Appearance on “History Detectives”

PBS - "History Detectives - 7/14/2011
Once again, the popular PBS series “History Detectives” has asked John Reznikoff for his expertise in authenticating signatures and relics, this time of aviator Charles A. Lindbergh. One of the TV show’s hosts, Tukufu Zuberi, interviewed John at the offices of University Archives, in Westport, Connecticut.
The material in question was fabric that showed the date of 1943 and signatures of Igor Sikorsky, inventor of the helicopter, and Lindbergh, who gained world fame with his 1927 nonstop flight aboard his single-engine “Spirit of St. Louis” airplane, from New York to Paris.
The autographs belong to Jimmy Patterson of Staunton, Virginia, whose father worked at the Sikorsky plant during 1943. Zuberi and Reznikoff discussed whether the signatures were authentic and whether the fabric actually came from the airplane “Spirit of St. Louis”. To watch this episode of “History Detectives”, please click here.
